Sally Reynolds, Managing Director


Sally qualified in Ireland in 1978 as a Remedial Linguist (Speech Therapist) and worked in the Community Health Sector in Ireland for 6 years. From 1984 till 1990, she worked in radio and television in Ireland as a manager, researcher, presenter and producer for both local stations and the national radio and television service (RTE). In 1990 she became involved in the area of technology supported learning, initially through the production of educational radio and television programmes in Ireland. This led to her participation in one of the first pilot use of videoconferencing for teaching purposes in Ireland in 1990 supported under the EC Star Telematique Programme. From the early 90's onwards, she became increasingly involved in European Commission supported activities in this field and worked in a variety of projects in the area of technology (telematics) supported learning in Ireland, Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium for different organisations including University College Dublin, Berlitz Language Schools in Frankfurt, the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities in Heerlen and EuroPACE 2000 and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. These included projects funded under the 3rd, 4th and eventually 5th Framework Programmes of the European Union. In 1999, she set up ATiT with Mathy Vanbuel where she is now joint Managing Director.

 

Her skills are:

- Project management including administration, marketing and co-ordination of Telematics Applications, Information Society and Minerva/Socrates projects

- Networking, publication, news-gathering and information exchange regarding telematics supported learning primarily in Europe but also in other parts of the world

- Research related to telematics supported learning

- Consultancy on the topic of setting up and using various synchronous interactive two way video/audio classrooms over different networks including ISDN and satellite

- Teaching and training users of various synchronous interactive two way video/audioclassrooms - typically teachers and lecturers who come to use these systems for the first time

- Evaluation and Review of European Commission Programmes in the field of eLearning

- Management experience of 8 different European Commission supported trans-border projects in this field funded under the Telematics Applications, Information Society, Socrates/Minerva, CULP and TEN programmes

- Initiation and completion of European Space Agency supported projects

- Management of the agenda for the Online Educa Berlin conference held annually

- Member of EDEN

- Consultancy for UNESCO, the World Bank and IMFUNDO (UK)

- English presentation, conference moderation and voiceover

- Radio Producer
